what’s the rehearsal schedule like?

We aim to schedule rehearsals that work with various schedules and, likewise, optimize the ability to put on an excellent show! We will run rehearsals weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. You may not be needed at all rehearsals- your rehearsal schedule will be related to your given role; ie- all cast is not required at all rehearsals unless we’re speaking to final dress and/or tech rehearsals.

I have a vacation planned, can I still audition?

Yes, please! We welcome versatile schedules and encourage you to still audition. Please understand that availability for rehearsals is taken into consideration when assigning roles.

  • It's a joy to celebrate Adelaide Lovelady entering her 4th year directing Summertime House all the while marking her 13th year in the arts. Originally from Georgia and now residing in South Carolina, she has immersed herself in diverse theatre experiences, portraying characters such as Gertrude McFuzz in Seussical and featured ensemble roles in Daniel and the Kings. With a background in both learning and community theatre, Adelaide strives to provide participants with skills for their future roles in life, ensuring each one departs enriched from the experience.

  • We are excited to welcome Daney Brickles as this year’s Summertime Music Director! A dedicated music educator in Berkeley County and long-time church musician, Daney brings over a decade of experience in instrumental and vocal music. Passionate about inspiring young musicians, Daney blends his diverse musical background with his faith to instill a heart of service in every student.

  • We are thrilled to welcome Harper Mobley as our Summertime voice coach! A lifelong performer and vocalist, she has been singing in choirs since childhood and holds a Music Degree in Vocal Performance from the College of Charleston. Harper has starred in operas like Gianni Schicchi and remains active in the theatre community. Passionate about music’s power to inspire confidence, Harper is excited to share her love of singing with our team this summer!

  • We are thrilled to welcome back the incredible Cheyenne Beets Huber as choreographer for The Prince of Egypt! With formal training in choreography composition and study in all styles of dance, Cheyenne has showcased her choreography around the Lowcountry for nearly a decade. Returning to House for her 4th year, she is thrilled to share in the art of dance for such an impactful show and with such a talented, uplifting cast.

  • Returning for her fourth year, Chloe Lovelady is a prime example of God qualifying those He calls. With a background in biology, her passion is in practically all things creative. When she was “volun-told” by Adelaide, her sister, to be a part of Summertime House, Chloe was (and remains) grateful that God placed her into such an uplifting and talented community!

will there be any weekend rehearsals?

We do aim to incorporate 2 and up to 4 Saturday rehearsals to put those finishing touches on the show! These rehearsals are necessary to pair together elements of tech, complex choreography, set design, costumes, and hair/makeup.
